Mark Ellyat w Egipcie ustanawiał rekord świata w nurkowaniu na obiegu otwartym a ja gromadziłem w głowie swoje pierwsze podwodne wspomnienia. Ten automat wiąże się nierozerwalnie z tymi wspomnieniami i to właśnie na nim Mark ustanowił wspomniany rekord (choć szczerze mówiąc nie wiem ile w tym marketingu). Dla mnie jego metalowa obudowa i jak na tamte czasy zjawiskowy kształt stały sie głównym przyczynkiem dokonania tego zakupu. Detale techniczne i doskonała specyfikacja nie miały aż tak znaczącego wpływu na podjętą przeze mnie decyzję. Bo choć lista rekordów tego automatu jest długa, to ja i tak wiem swoje....
Nie ma automatu, który nie zamarza ;-)

Ciekawostki:
"My $0.02 worth is go with the MR22 Abyss. Solid as a rock performance and breeze to repair. NASA uses them at the NBL exclusively. One of the critera they had was that the reg had to be able to be cleaned in an industrial dishwasher. (I guess those guys and gals in houston are too lazy to clean their gear.) The Abyss is the only reg that passed the test. As to it's suitablity for cold water diving, the new record depth obtained on scuba (313m) was set using an MR22 Abyss"
PS. Gdzieś czytałem kiedyś, że chłopaki z Navy Seals nurkują na tym sprzęcie, ale to chyba jednak prowokacja grubymi nićmi szyta. Wierzę, że US Navy używa tego automatu, ale czy widzieliście kiedyś komandosa nurkującego na obiegu otwartym? :-)
